NEW YORK Facebook’s stock market debut is finally here — and investors jumped on the breathlessly hyped IPO, sending shares up almost 11% at the start of trade. On Thursday night, Facebook (FB) set its final IPO price at $38 a share. When the stock began trading at 11:30 a.m. ET on Friday, the first trade came in at $42.05 per share. New Study: Coffee drinkers may live longer
A new study published Thursday in the New England Journal of Medicine suggests that drinking coffee may just help you live longer. Researchers at the National Institutes of Health looked at the coffee drinking habits of 402,260 members of the American Association of Retired Persons. Participants completed a detailed dietary, lifestyle and demographic questionnaire at the study’s start, when they were between ages 50 and 71. During the study, 52,515 participants died. At the end of the study, the association between drinking coffee and mortality was seen among different races and educational levels, and in a very large group with a large number of deaths. The study also removed the possibility of smoking and alcohol…

Facebook Inc. to pricing its initial public offering at $38 a share, according to Wall Street Journal, a move that would value the Internet company at more than $100 billion. Facebook executives and senior bankers on the deal were holed up in a meeting discussing the price and a decision still hasn’t been made final, cautioned the people, noting that the final price could still come in a dollar higher. Looking for a Job? Some of the biggest tech companies in the Northwest are looking for new workers. According to TechFlash, Amazon announced Monday it is hiring 1,000 people for its Seattle offices. Amazon looking for technical developers to work on software engineering, management of software development, user interface, user experience design, and technical program management. Microsoft is also hiring more than 1,500 people. Other tech companies are expanding in the area, including Facebook office in Seattle, Google’s Kirkland office and F-5 Networks in Seattle.

Facebook Co-Founder Gives Up U.S. Citizenship Before The Facebook IPO
Eduardo Saverin, the billionaire co- founder of Facebook Inc. (FB), renounced his U.S. citizenship before an initial public offering that values the social network at as much as $96 billion, a move that may reduce his tax bill. Facebook plans to raise as much as $11.8 billion through the IPO, the biggest in history for an Internet company. Saverin’s stake is about 4 percent, according to the website Who Owns Facebook. At the high end of the IPO valuation, that would be worth about $3.84 billion. His holdings aren’t listed in Facebook’s regulatory filings. Facebook is launching a new App Center, “a place to find social web, desktop, and mobile apps” — and not just Facebook apps. A medical report compiled by the family physician of George Zimmerman found that he was diagnosed with a “closed fracture” of his nose, a pair of black eyes, two lacerations to the back of his head and a minor back injury the day after he fatally shot Trayvon Martin after their altercation on Feb 26th.
